BraceX Recommended Brace for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Advanced Wrist Immobilization 🖐️🩹
The Bauerfeind ManuLoc Long is a stabilizing wrist brace that provides extended forearm immobilization for effective treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, post-surgical recovery, and severe wrist or forearm injuries.
Building on the design of the standard ManuLoc, the Long version features an elongated forearm section for added control and stability — limiting movement not only at the wrist but also the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ). This ensures superior immobilization for conditions where standard wrist braces do not provide enough support.
Despite its rigidity, the ManuLoc Long remains lightweight, breathable, and comfortable, thanks to its anatomically contoured aluminum stays and soft inner lining. The design keeps the fingers free, allowing functional movement during healing.
Key Features:
Extended Forearm Support: Provides additional immobilization of the wrist and forearm for greater stability.
Anatomically Contoured Stays: Adjustable aluminum stays mold to the patient’s anatomy for custom positioning.
Rigid Yet Lightweight Frame: Protects and stabilizes the wrist without unnecessary bulk.
Breathable Material: Promotes comfort during prolonged wear.
Easy Velcro Closures: Quick, one-handed application for convenience.
Full Finger Mobility: Supports daily function while maintaining wrist protection.
Recommended For:
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) — reduces wrist flexion and relieves pressure on the median nerve.
Post-surgical immobilization following carpal tunnel release or wrist repair.
Severe wrist sprains, fractures, or ligament injuries.
Tendinitis or tenosynovitis requiring extended rest.
Arthritis or wrist instability.
Post-casting protection as patients transition to active rehab.
Why Choose the Long Version?
The ManuLoc Long provides greater stabilization than the standard ManuLoc, extending further up the forearm to:
Restrict wrist and forearm motion, especially pronation/supination.
Offer enhanced control for carpal tunnel syndrome and post-operative healing.
Support patients who experience persistent instability, pain, or weakness after immobilization.
Provide extra protection in cases involving both wrist and forearm involvement.
👉 Choose the ManuLoc Long when maximum control and immobilization are needed for complex wrist or nerve-related conditions.

Measure the circumference of your wrist just above the wrist bone.
Note: for the ManuLoc Long version, the length of the forearm needs to be at least 21.5cm long. Take this measurement from the wrist to the thickest part of the forearm.

The ManuLoc Long should hold the wrist in a neutral or slightly extended position to relieve median nerve pressure in carpal tunnel syndrome. The aluminum stays can be adjusted for a comfortable, supportive fit. Straps should be firm but not restrictive.
